FOOD JOKE (3). MY THREE BEST RECIPES. SUJI MEAT BALLS. ASIAN CHICKEN-VEGGIE SOUP. NUSANTARA URAP SALAD

FOOD JOKES (3)
Fried egg, sunshine up please
What is the meaning of  “Fried egg sunshine up”
- must be  the yolk looking like the sun and the white sure got a real good tan :)
wow!  the sun  shines bright alright.
Not easy to fry egg this way.. Look, I can’t do it, if I burn/ tan  the white (yolk) , the sun will set !.
This is something even a gourmet chef may not know how to fix.
It takes a genius scientist chef to do this right huh  :)
btw:) i have to post at least a joke, so that it gets listed in google search LOL

THE BBQ SAUCE TASTER

FOOD TASTING ON A  BRAND NEW BBQ SAUCE

The Manufacturer's representative said:
Our product which has its own rich bbq sauce ingredients, that will truly complement your own bbq marinade. We invited 4 RENOWNED FOOD TASTERS (FT) to sample our sauce and voice their comments, here they are:

FT 1: Has a great burnt flavor. There is no need to use mesquit wood briquettes- how economical and ahaa!  with  a hint of buffalo too!  may be they add the buffalo skin to this sauce…wow! what a wow! sauce

FT 2: Has a woody bbq flavor. There is no need to use pine wood briquettes- protects your greens and ahaa!  Its got a kind of “passing by smell” of a rabbit ON carrot diet… wow ! a healthy sauce is the wow! factor here.... fantastic innovation in the name of sauce....

FT 3: Has a BBQ’d wood flavor (barbequed wood?). This sauce will simply adds a very strong woody flavor to your bbq meat, like it tastes more woody than meaty… I don’t get any buffalo or rabbit in here. The wood must have burnt them out…wow! wow! fantastic innovation in the name of bbq..

FT 4: Has a strange new  thingy here.. nothing woody or meaty.. ahaa! It’s cinnamon..Yeah spicy, I think they want to penetrate the Asian market- very economically strategic input Ma!
Hey, and a “passing by smell” of ghee too. MUST BE THAT BUFFALO. Wow weeee!

SUJI MEAT BALLS RECIPE. AUTHENTIC MEAT BALLS RECIPE WITH POTATOES AND SUJI

SUJI MEAT BALLS RECIPE.  AUTHENTIC SUJI POTATO MEAT BALLS RECIPE
Ingredients: makes 24 pieces
1 cup mashed potatoes-  about 4 pieces medium sized potatoes (skinned and cut into 4)
200 grams minced meat
 5 tbsp suji flour
Suji flour to roll in the meat balls
6 tbsp wheat flour
1 medium size onion- minced- can get about ½ cup
1 teaspoon instant yeast
4 tbsp corn flour
4 tbsp minced coriander leaves
4 pieces bay leaves
Salt and pepper to taste
Some raw vegetables of your choice- may be tomatoes or grated cabbage
Boil potatoes with 2 pieces bay leaves until soften. Scoop out the potatoes and then mash them up. Set aside.

Boil minced meat in some water. Add in salt, pepper and 2 pieces bay leaves. The water level should be just enough to cover the meat, do not put too much. Once the water almost dries up,  add in onions. Continue stirring for about 5 minutes, to wilt the onions and make it more flavorful and the meat slightly oily due to it's own fat. Let the meat keep its moisture and not get dried up.Turn off fire and leave to cool.

Use a small bowl, stir in mashed potatoes, minced meat, yeast, suji, wheat and corn flour  until well mixed.
And in coriander (and cut chili if you like). If the dough is soft, add a bit more wheat flour.
This is a thick dough, somewhat almost like a cookie dough, but after frying, the inside is soft..
Shape into balls. Ensure it is firmly rolled / shaped, so that they don’t break up when frying. Set aside for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, spread some suji flour on a tray. Roll in the meat balls in the suji flour until all are fully covered with suji flour.

Heat up oil in a frying pan. Fry suji meat balls until brown. Don’t put too many/ too close together or cluttered, because the meat balls will expand a bit while frying. When browned, turn to the other side. Do this like twice for each side. The suji coating will be of a much lighter color, it will not brown much, as compared to the dough mixture.
This suji coat gives a pretty texture to the meat balls and also makes the outer part uniquely crunchy.

While waiting for the meat balls to brown, arrange the raw veggies on a serving plate. You may want a dip for the veggies and meatballs. To prepare a simple dip, use tomato sauce and  mix it with some black pepper sauce.

FISH CURRY RECIPE- SPANISH MACKEREL CURRY RECIPE

FISH CURRY RECIPE- SPANISH MACKEREL CURRY RECIPE

HI  FRIENDS, CAN ANYONE HELP ME HOW TO STOP THESE POP UPS THAT KEEP SHOWING IN MY BLOG.JUNIA TOLD ME ABOUT IT. I DID NOT SEE THEM..THERE ARE 4 POP UPS., ONE IS  A FOODIE, ONE IS A BAD VIDEO AND 2 GAMES ADVERTISEMENT. THANKS .

NO POP UPS ALLOWED N THIS BLOG!!!!!

Ingredients:
2 pieces cut Spanish mackerel-  each cut is about 1 inch or 2.5 cm thick. Clean and set aside

1 small packet meat curry powder mix- 24grams (mix with water to form a watery paste (not a thick paste)
1 tablespoon dried chili flakes
½  inch young ginger root- cut into fine slices
3 pieces shallots- thin slices
2 pieces garlic- thin slices
2 stalks curry leaves
2 inches or about 5 cm cinnamon stick
2 pieces cloves
1 star anis
2 pieces cardamom pods

1 cup fresh coconut milk and add 2 cups water
OR use 3 cups low fat milk
6 pieces pickled green olives- rinse whole
4 pieces pickled baby gherkins- rinse whole, make a tiny slit once
2 tablespoon concentrated tamarind juice
A few green chili – do not slice or break them up
A few tablespoon cooking oil and salt to taste
Heat up cooking oil in a pot, enough oil for the curry paste to be completely submerged.
Add in shallots, garlic and ginger, stir until shallots turn light brown. Add in all the dry spices, curry paste, curry leaves and chili flakes. Stir continuously on low fire.
You may add a bit more water before the curry paste dries up and fry them a little longer. It is important that the curry cooks well over slow fire.

When the curry paste thickens, becomes aromatic and the oil turns bubbly, add in milk OR coconut milk , pickled olives, gherkins, salt and the Spanish mackerel. Stir the gravy over medium fire, do not stir the fish, it may break up.
When the fish is cooked, add in tamarind juice. Turn off fire after 2 minutes. Once the fire is off, add in chili. Scoop out/ throw away excess oil found at top of curry gravy.

By doing this, the hot, tongue tickling flavor of chili will not enter into the curry. This curry is much milder in terms of spices and chili used/ taste. Serve with rice…. I have not seen fish curry recipes with pickled olives and gherkins before. Enjoy! I simply love this :)

FOOD JOKES FROM COOKING VARIETIES

FOOD JOKES...
Last quarter of september, cooking varieties celebrates her one year old anniversary
This time around, me not in the mood to publish recipe, me wanna share some food jokes with thee… sit back, relax and be happyyyyy…
How to crack a joke? Err err,,
Use a kitchen nut cracker
My first cartoon on blogwalk is named  Fishy..ya, this first one is on fish.

Once upon a blogging  time, i had a guest post entitled, something like- "FISH  RECIPE.  STEAK RECIPE

The actual recipe ingredients and cooking method (bake) posted was on “FISH” .
My guest post blogger added that beef can also be used instead of fish. However, if beef  is used, choose the type of beef similar/ suitable  for making steak. That is why it is named “steak recipe”, in fact there was no post on steak recipe at all.

Then….one fine day, i got one comment on this post, it said =
“Thanks for adding steaks in my bbq parties, I thought that my party can't be end without having steaks. Everything I made by watching your bbq steak article , you made it very easily. I took double of your time for cooking.”

Should i publish this great comment ?… LOL  am flattered !!!  my fish got drowned!

Next joke, I saw at Anciro’s - “Kalamay, a Philippines delicacy that you will surely love once you tasted. Not so sticky that you dont need to chew overtime....”  LOL

Here are some food tips that i came across on my rare googling spree (once in 3 months may be, i don’t  like to google much)- well i will not mention names here: The print in red are my words to explain as and where necessary.
Excerpts:
1. Treatment for scaly feet- Scrub scaly feet with Noni fruit that is cooked on the  tree (ripe) until evenly and leave for 30 minutes.
2. Also can boil, after cold- filtered and drunk
3. You need laxative for constipation- In effect, the bowel was choked up (constipation), can become smooth again (laxative).
4. The enzyme bromelain which is stored in a pineapple, is strong ammunition, that can KO-raid serious diseases (opposite of OK), such as tumors, atherosclerosis…
5. Fruit of the skin filled with gold scales (means pineapple) makes the body's defense system becomes more solid.
6. Rub on the skin of the sick with mash pineapple leaves until smooth. Just smeared on the skin of the sick, because not all people are free to consume the pineapple. The fruit of this one has side effects …..
7. (1) Large-sized tomato fruit,(2) tomato vegetable with a smaller size and (3) cherry tomatoes are just of a marble. (explained 3 different sizes of tomatoes).
8. Nutritious tomatoes eliminate wear (quench your thirst) and increase appetite to multiply out of saliva. Tomato also has antipyretic properties alias (@) lowering a fever. Benefits of tomatoes is already in rigorous long time.
9. Undoubtedly, 'Pop star' for the source of calcium is milk.
10. Logically, the right food for our bone is bone. Therefore, consuming a lot of chicken claws/ bones contain a lot of calcium (is good).
11. The body produces vitamin D in response to sunlight- that’s surprising – the sun is not technically a food OK
cooking varieties add to this:
I am not sure what time of the day, you can get the food, when the sun is vertically or horizontally, just hang on out there for the D.. if too much hanging on, your skin gets a C.  Let’s be honest, I mean a skin complications- C baby ! !
12. Salt is the main person who removes calcium in the body. The more salt you eat, the more calcium is taken away by urine. Embedded (?eat?) in low-salt diet, for good health

13. Guava actually tastes good, it’s benefits so many, but because many seeds, people are lazy to buy or to eat it. Actually, to separate the seeds with the flesh is not difficult…so eat !

14. In one advertisement at an eatery (called Chocolate Bar) , says- “Chocolate Bar offers chocolate buffet with 57 creations of chocolate. You can spoil your tongue at The Chocolate Bar!

15.  This last one  is  from cooking varieties:  At a restaurant- a guest asked the waiter. Do you serve muffins here? The waiter replied ”we serve everyone sir- including  Tom, Dick and Harry”. Welcome Mr Muffins sir, have a seat
Cooking varieties blueberry banana cinnamon muffins recipe...link

If you have any Foodie jokes to share, put it down in my comment box, I may just publish them in my future Food jokes post. Thank you –smile.. an everlasting smile
