RUSSIAN VINAIGRETTE RECIPE.
Vinaigrette (/vɪnəˈɡrɛt/) is a mixture (emulsion) of olive oil and vinegar, sometimes flavored with herbs, spices and other ingredients. It is used most commonly as a salad dressing . It is also a cold sauce or marinade for cold salad such as artichoke, asparagus and leek as in classical French cuisine.

The salad consists of the dressing, beet, pickled cucumber, potatoes, carrot and onion. Other ingredients, such as green peas and sauerkraut, are sometimes also added. RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
2 medium cooked beets (medium size)
*2 medium boiled potatoes (medium size)
*1 pickled cucumber
*1 large size onion
*1 boiled carrot
1 medium sliced pickled cabbage

3 tablespoons sunflower seeds oil,1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 teaspoon mustard and salt
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Mix well the sauce ingredients. Cut ** ingredients into diamond shapes. Add in sliced pickled cabbage and green peas. Cut beets into diamonds and add the sauce.
Mix it with the other ingredients. Store in the fridge for an hour, until cold and

Ginger dressing (also called sesame ginger dressing or sesame dressing) is an Asian style dressing, made with seasoned and a variety of ingredients.. This spicy sweet dressing, is served as toppings for salads. It is also used as a dipping sauce for grilled chicken.
SALAD INGREDIENTS::
1 cup grated chinese cabbage
1 cup grated red cabbage
1 medium size cucumber- grated, remove pith.
3 shallots- slice thinly
2 tbsp minced cilantro leaves
½ cup roasted peanuts

¼ cup palm sugar (jaggery)
1 tbsp fresh young ginger- mince

Put all Dressing ingredients in an airtight small bottle/ lidded air tight container .
Close the bottle and shake it to mix well all the dressing ingredients.
In a hour before serving, using a large bowl, mix in all ingredients except peanuts. Add in ginger dressing and mix again, then set aside. Keep excess dressing in the fridge –can last for 3 days..

Sprinkle with peanuts just before serving. Great as side dish with rice.

DeleteKoreans also uses seaweeds in their recipe..especially noodles..the problem with these dishes are they are seafood oriented..and I'm allergic to seafood (except fish)..sigh..
