RUSSIAN VINAIGRETTE  RECIPE.
GINGER, SESAME DRESSING RECIPE.
TEN GENERAL COOKING TIPS
RUSSIAN VINAIGRETTE
Vinaigrette (/vɪnəˈɡrɛt/) is a mixture (emulsion) of olive oil and vinegar, sometimes flavored with herbs, spices and other ingredients. It is used most commonly as a salad dressing . It is also  a cold sauce or marinade for cold salad such as artichoke, asparagus and leek as in classical French cuisine.
Russian Vinaigrette (Винегрет) is also the name of a most popular classic Russian salad made with this dressing. The salad consists of the dressing, beet, pickled cucumber, potatoes, carrot and onion. Other ingredients, such as green peas and sauerkraut, are sometimes also added. Most ingredients are from pickles… in.spiration from Russian recipes

GINGER SESAME DRESSING
Ginger dressing (also called sesame ginger dressing or sesame dressing) is an Asian style dressing, made with seasoned and a variety of ingredients.. This  spicy sweet dressing, is served as toppings for salads. It is also used as a dipping sauce for grilled chicken.
SALAD INGREDIENTS::
1 cup grated  chinese cabbage
1 cup grated  red cabbage
1 medium size cucumber- grated, remove pith.
3  shallots- slice thinly
 2 tbsp minced  cilantro leaves
½ cup roasted peanuts
INGREDIENTS  FOR DRESSING;
1/3 cup  rice vinegar
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/3 cup peanut oil- or a more neutral oil, such as safflower or vegetable oil
3 tbsp soy sauce
¼ cup palm sugar (jaggery)
1 tbsp fresh young ginger- mince
1 tbsp scallion slices
2 tbsp sesame seeds
1/2 tsp pepper
1 green chili-cut into slices

THE WAY TO DO IT
Put all Dressing ingredients in an airtight small bottle/  lidded air tight container .
 Close the bottle and shake it to mix well all the dressing ingredients.
In a hour before serving, using a large bowl, mix in all ingredients except peanuts. Add in ginger dressing and mix again, then set aside. Keep excess dressing in the fridge –can last for 3 days..
Sprinkle with peanuts just before serving. Great as side dish with rice.

    Appreciate if you allow me to introduce yr blog to my readers in Woman724 - so they too can benefit and share?

    Sorry, lagging behind lately as too busy with so many weddings going on here - some homes still practice our traditional "community effort" way of preparing food, so I too need to show my face and help around a bit.

    Cheers
