GUEST POST BY SYED ALFANDI PHOTOGRAPHY AND  RAMBLINGS
WINTER SQUASH IN ARTSY DIGITAL   PHOTOGRAPHY
Syed Alfandi says: Hi, i graduated in marketing but end up as a professional photographer cum artist. In this blog I believed I have successfully combined photography and digital art to produce amazing results, as you can see from some of my original pieces here.
This blog focus mainly on Malaysian traditional and contemporary wedding ceremonies and other cultural fiestas, where Malaysia has plenty to offer. The events captured on camera are further explored in artsy digital photography works.
There’s a lot to capture at a traditional wedding, because this celebration usually lasts for a few days, at both the bride and groom’s place...with lots of changing of traditional attires for the camera.

I want to keep these traditions alive, of which some of them, are slowly being forgotten- here, in my blog, they are well archived for generations to come…save some in cyber !...

Regards,

THE BRIDAL PROCESSION
This is called the “Bridal Procession”. Using traditional musical instruments and the chanting of folk songs and poetic verses. The procession normally accompanies the arrival of the bridegroom. This photograph was converted into the digital art of “oil painting”

THE HENNA COLORING IN DIGITAL WATER COLOR PAINTING
Traditionally, two nights before the wedding, her fingernails are being colored using natural fresh henna, wrapped around the fingers and left overnight to get the best shade of red. This photograph has been transformed into digital water color painting.

  7. Very interesting.. and to concentrate on traditional weddings is a wonderful choice. I was in Sabah and attended a 7day-long Bajau Bukit wedding do.. they went on day and night, and the ceremony were so colorful.

Just like old days whn my grandparents organized for my aunties.. Nostalgia!

My son is in Advertising (1st year) and very interested in photography, will recommend this blog to him.

Live is so full of lovely things that we tend to overlook, and these are the little things that actually colours our days..

    Cheers
