  • 1/2 cup dried fruit
  • 1 cup raw or cooked vegetables or vegetable juice

Health benefits of broccoli:
 A member of the cabbage family and a close relative of cauliflower, broccoli packs more nutrients than any other vegetables.
Broccoli contains  beta carotene, an  important antioxidant. Also an  excellent amount of vitamin C which helps heal cuts and wounds and keep teeth and gums healthy
Researchers have concluded that broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables should be included in the diet several times a week. Cruciferous vegetable (cauliflower, Brussels Sprouts, and all forms of cabbage)Consuming foods high in antioxidants can reduce the risk of some forms of cancer and heart disease- Vietnamese Food Fruits

  3. Thank you for the award....such an honor! I love broccoli and your salad is wonderful! I make Caesar salad frequently, but I omit the anchovies. I've never added broccoli or bell pepper! I've never heard of prune powder...but I LOVE prunes! I'll have to look up that ingredient and see if I can't get it on-line!

  4. Hi CV...
    A Very happy Eid Mubarak to you and all Muslim friends here..

    Cannot resist fresh veges.. Love love them...

    I was in Sabah, Borneo for over 10yrs - where we get fresh daily veges - direct from farms and sold very cheaply. Normally we prepare two dishes of veges for each meal.

    Mount Kinabalu is one of the highest Mountains in South East Asia, on the island of Borneo and the veges are grown in Kundasang...

    Fresh Shitake mushrooms, asparagus, Brocollis and many many more more.

    During my time there, brinjals, ladies fingers picking seasons @ 100pieces for a mere RM1 (USD1=RM2.99), really crazy prizes!! Even if you refuse to buy(they insist) they will throw a few bundles into your baskets, for FREE!!

    It is a daily farmers market.. they had to dispose whatever produce, tomorrow is another load to dispose off, so you become their "dumping" customer! LOL

    Anyway, Mount Kinabalu is also very famous for climbers and for nature lovers, the tropical natural habitat, wild orchids and plants.

    For nature lovers, it is really a beautiful place to visit, esp the Danum Valley Conservation Area, a natural paradise of lush tropical lowland rainforest habitat with an incredible diversity of plant and animal life.

    Attach websites re Mount Kinabalu and their farmers' vege stalls;
